2020 Louis Jadot Marsannay Rosé
What it is:
Rose made from 100% Pinot Noir, from the Marsannay region in France.
Why we like it:
This is a historic wine that helped save the Marsannay region. Originally part of the Clair-Daü estate, the domaine was sold to Louis Jadot in 1985. Jadot decided to keep the traditional Clair-Daü label to pay homage to the wine. After the first world war Marsannay had lost a lot of its former glory as it struggled with finding labour and tending to the vines. Joseph Clair had the idea to sell a Marsannay Rose which was faster to market and less labour intensive. The idea took off and quickly brought attention back to Marsannay. Ever since the wine has been highly sought after and thoroughly enjoyed. This is a special rose that is easily enjoyed with good company.
