2020 Chateau des Jacques "Les Jacques" Syrah
What it is:
100% Syrah from the Beaujolais region in France. Aged in 75% oak and 25% concrete for 10 months.
Why we like it:
This is an exciting and interesting wine. From a region known for Gamay, Chateau des Jacques decided to test Syrah given the recent drought and increase in temperature. This makes sense as Beaujolais isn't too far from the Northern Rhone which is the home of Syrah. This is is the first vintage of this wine, we are excited to watch this wine evolve and see its impact on the future of Beaujolais.
