Why we like it:

Benanti was born when Dr. Giuseppe Benanti decided to move back to his family's home on Etna and return to making wine. When he first started he was one of ten winemakers on Mount Etna. His commitment to replanting the indigenous varieties and building vineyards on an active volcano is what makes the wines so special today. The vineyards in Etna look different generation to generation because the volcano is active; steam vents blow out from the ground changing the contour of the vineyard and lava flows wipe out anything in their path. The wines themselves are highly unique and crisp. This Etna Bianco drinks similar to Chablis, while maintaining its own distinct personality.
