In 1975, Josh Jensen made a bold move and bought a secluded property with the intention of planting Burgundy-style Pinot Noir. His vision was to cultivate grapes in limestone-rich soils like those found in the most renowned Burgundy wine domains, believing it essential to great wine. Despite many obstacles, he expanded his estate to six vineyards equipped for producing exquisite Viognier and Chardonnay - as well as Pinot Noir. Through hard work, dedication and expertise, he became one of the Central Coast's most celebrated producers of top quality Pinot Noir, being at the forefront of creating the Mount Harlan AVA and inspiring a new wave of luxury winemaking in California.
